About The Owner

Caricature of Chris SpeyrerChris Speyrer (pronounced - Lynyrd Skynyrd)

Comedian Chris Speyrer had to overcome nervousness in order to pursue his comedy career. "I used to pace for miles before every show, but I solved that problem. Now I just walk to the gig."

Speyrer started comedy fresh out of college in January of 1989. Equipped with a BA in English, he thought the public speaking experience would enhance his resume. After a few months of open mics, Chris started getting paid for performing and the job search was going nowhere, the dye was cast to roam the nation with his unique humor. He has gone on to perform in 39 states including: Depression, Confusion and West Virginia.

Speyrer’s sarcastic irreverence has entertained crowds from Atlanta, GA to Zanesville, OH. He can work clean, but even his off color material is clever and sharp. Speyrer has appeared on The Comedy Channel’s Access America and a couple times on The Bob & Tom Show. He has worked with some of the biggest names in comedy, including the biggest: Costaki Economopoulos. Others he’s shared the stage with include: Dave Chappelle, Ron White, Elaine Boosler, Jake Johanssen, Heywood Banks. Drew Hastings, Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry The Cable Guy, Rodney Carrington and Jeff Dunham.

In 2006 Speyrer opened his own comedy club; Mason City Limits. He has been involved with charities like COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) and POMC (Parents of Murdered Children) Chris performed, booked and organized annual shows at the Melrose Improv in Hollywood, CA to benefit The Nicole Parker Foundation.
