Welcome to Mason City Limits Comedy Club's webpage. We offer the finest in stand up comedy most weekends and we have a full bar. The most popular comedians from Comedy Central, The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, HBO, Conan and The Bob & Tom Show have appeared on our stage.

 September 25 - 26 Tim Laffey learned that if you can't beat ‘em, join ‘em, so after years of being teased about his last name he started doing stand-up comedy. Performing with a classic style, he draws inspiration from his time growing up on a farm, dealing with his kids or other unique observations from life. He has honed his craft to find the right energy to delight audiences on any stage.
As a founding member of Belly Laffs Comedy, he has been producing comedy in the Springfield area since 2015. Tim has performed in many comedy clubs, theaters, social clubs, bars, restaurants, and private shows as the host, feature, or occasional headliner. He was an active member of Capital City Improv for several years and now uses that experience to keep each show fresh. In 2022 Tim started appearing on the Pub and Grub Comedy Tour and has performed comedy in twelve states. In 2026 he appeared in the World Series of Comedy Festival (Indianapolis, Detroit, and Little Rock). He has enjoyed sharing a stage with Dr. Gonzo, Stuart Huff, Jeff Leeson, and Janelle James among many others. Audiences remember him as a witty comedian, with an easy-going manner and agree with his mom, Tim is generally likable enough!
Local favorite Scotty Harris and Shelly Wright are also on these shows. Shelley is a Chicago-based comic who is always looking for an excuse to travel. A Chicago favorite, she has performed at The Crow in LA, Soldado's in Taos, The Comedy House in New Orleans, The Last Best Comedy Club in Bozeman, Montana and hosted for Ginger Billy in Naples, FL. For the past 3 years she has been co-hosting and producing "Funnies at the Friendly" and "Comedy Mirror" in the suburban Chicago area. She is 50% vegan, and 100% optimist. |   |

Our showroom is available for Private Parties at any time during the year as just a banquet facility or in conjunction with a comedy show. Ask about catering to the club from one of the fine restaurants in Mason City. Group discounts available for some shows.
Mason City Limits has Wi-Fi, stage and a professional lighting and sound system; appropriate for any business meetings that requires a power point presentation. Mason City Limits has a full bar. We’re located in the middle of everywhere: within 45 minutes from Peoria, Springfield and Bloomington and about 20 minutes from Havana, Manito, Petersburg and Lincoln.
